Job summary

Technical People is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Des Plaines, IL. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience.

The Mechanical Engineer will utilize SolidWorks to develop machine layouts, detail designs, and work closely with customers on their design parameters. The targeted annual salary for this position is between $75,000 and $85,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• MS Office proficiency is a plus including the use of MS Excel as needed.
• A knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Utilize SolidWorks to develop conceptual machine layouts for the foods industry.
• Use SolidWorks or AutoCAD to detail the machine designs and provide exploded view drawings as well as Bills of Materials.
• Be responsible for identifying the motor requirements for the conveyors including rotational torque calculations.
• Serve as a liaison with the electrical engineering with the integration of HMI and PLC controls as well as robotics for pick and place applications.
• Be a technical liaison if required to work with customers on their design parameters to incorporate their specific requirements into your machine designs.
• Be available for on-site commissioning of your machines at the customer locations.
