Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical engineering background. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience and will bring a strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude. This role offers exposure to specialized steam turbine and industrial power‑generation systems, providing opportunities to work directly with experienced engineering leadership and support real equipment in both shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Design machined parts using CAD software, ensuring designs are manufacturable and can be seamlessly handed off to machine shops.
• Engage in mechanical troubleshooting and execute projects from design through shop and field installations.
• Support assembly and testing of components, and assist in customer‑site installations.
• Travel 20 to 30 percent annually, especially during spring and fall busy seasons, to provide customer‑facing field support.
• Work directly with customers at field sites, representing the company professionally and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in CAD design for machined parts.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability and operational knowledge of machine shops.
• Strong hands‑on mechanical engineering aptitude, including the ability to work on equipment in a shop environment.
• Ability to travel and provide professional customer‑facing support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Exposure to steam turbines, rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial equipment is preferred but not required.
• Experience in supporting installations, fieldwork, or commissioning.
• background or hobbies demonstrating mechanical hands‑on interest, such as working on cars, building equipment, or racing.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in an office/shop environment in Loveland, with typical working hours of 8-hour days, 40-hour weeks, five days a week. The position requires physical presence in the shop and on‑site, working around steam turbines during installation or support activities. Travel is 20 to 30 percent annually, with trips often lasting about a week to a week and a half, especially during peak seasons. The environment is described as flexible but primarily in‑office.

This is a Contract position based out of Loveland, CO.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
