Job Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to play a key role on our engineering team. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our electrical engineering group to reverse engineer obsolete I&C components, conduct on-site mechanical evaluations (including flow testing), plan and manage external materials testing, and perform Commercial Grade Dedication activities to ensure components meet Nuclear Safety-Related requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Reverse engineer obsolete mechanical components, enclosures, and devices.
- Work closely with the electrical engineering team to ensure proper performance and integration of electrical and mechanical designs.
- Develop high-quality documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and repair reports—often without original reference materials.
- Plan and oversee third-party testing such as materials testing, seismic testing, dynamics testing, and other performance evaluations.
- Design and build test benches for pressure- and flow-based systems.
- Lead projects from concept through delivery, communicating directly with customers and suppliers to ensure quality and successful outcomes.
- Continuously grow technical skills with opportunities to advance into roles that match your strengths and interests.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with CAD software is required.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems and how they integrate is highly desirable.
- Experience in the nuclear or other safety‑critical industries is a plus.
