Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical equipment components using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and drawings. You will support development planning, cost estimating and documentation while addressing manufacturing challenges on customer sites.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years’ related experience, proficiency in MS Project and MATLAB, and the ability to obtain/maintain a SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of related experience required.
• Experience with MS Project, MATLAB, and AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
• Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
• Experience in stress analysis and mechanical equipment component design.
• Knowledge of hydraulics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical equipment components using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and engineering drawings.
• Support development planning, cost estimating and documentation.
• Field experience in resolving manufacturing problems to maintain and improve products and services.
• Proficient with MS Project and MATLAB.
• Apply stress analysis techniques to designs.
