Job summary

RENTECH Boiler Systems, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Engineer to specify boiler auxiliary equipment, generate data sheets and RFQs, and evaluate proposals. The role includes piping/valve calculations, reviewing vendor docs, and supporting field service teams. Design of P&IDs for boiler systems is required, with travel ~10%.

The position emphasizes collaboration with vendors and internal engineers to ensure robust, compliant equipment solutions for industrial boilers.

Qualifications

• Ability to generate data sheets and RFQs.
• Basic thermodynamics knowledge is necessary.
• Experience reviewing vendor technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Specification of boiler auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to fans, turbines, burners, emissions equipment.
• Generate data sheets and RFQs; interface with vendors and perform equipment evaluations.
• Perform engineering calculations for steam and water piping, valves and flow elements.
• Review and coordinate vendor technical documentation.
• Provide home support to field service teams as needed.
• Design of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for boiler systems.

Job description

• Specification of Boiler Auxiliary Equipment, including but not limited to: combustion air fans, steam turbines, electric motors, burners, emissions control equipment, silencing equipment and others as needed.
• In this fashion the equipment engineer generates data sheets and/or requests for quotations, interfaces with vendors and performs technical evaluations of the equipment proposals.
• Various engineering calculations: for steam and water piping, control valves, flow elements and others as needed. Basic thermodynamic knowledge is necessary.
• Review and coordination of vendor technical documentation.
• Home support of field service team as needed for the auxiliary equipment(s).
• Design of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PandIds) for boiler system.
• Various other duties.
• Travel: 10% estimated
