Job summary

J.B. Poindexter & Co., Inc. is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Designer to join Corporate Engineering and Product Development.

You will take concepts from requirements through detailed design, prototype, validation, and design release for commercial vehicle bodies and components. The ideal candidate brings SolidWorks-based design capability, GD&T expertise, and experience with manufacturing processes. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 3-5 years of mechanical design, CAD, or product development experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks and GD&T.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, weldments, machined parts.
• Ability to travel periodically.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and assemblies for vehicle bodies and components.
• Create 2D drawings with GD&T and documentation.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups and interface analysis.
• Support design reviews, prototyping, and design release.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
