Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to support the Lunar Permanence program. You will develop detailed layouts and drawings for structural, fluids, and avionics components using Creo Parametric and Windchill, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to select materials and processes, contributing to cost and schedule tradeoffs while maintaining high design quality and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design.
• 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry
• Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development of spacecraft fluids, structural, avionics, and harness designs.

You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
• 4+ years proven experience.
• Knowledge of standard fluids and avionics components.
• Knowledge of brackets and secondary support structures.
• Experience with harness, tube, and pipe routing in Creo.
• Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.)

Base Pay Range for CA applicants is $34.39 - $48.14

Base Pay Range for CO applicants is $31.53 - $44.13

Base Pay Range for WA applicants is $34.39 - $48.14
