Job summary

rossgroup seeks a Mechanical Designer II to provide mechanical design services for a variety of clients in the oil and gas, industrial, and commercial sectors. You will coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction personnel, and translate concepts into CAD drawings from concept to completed engineering.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of piping design/drafting experience, familiarity with AutoCAD 2024, CADWorx2023, Navisworks, Plant 3D and Revit, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines.
• Experience with Plant 3D and Autodesk Revit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide piping design for a variety of clients, working with lead piping designers and lead engineers during drawing package development.
• Develop design and construction documents, including PFDs, P&IDs, plans, sections, piping drawings, details, isometrics and BOMs.
• Ensure cost, customer service, quality, schedule and safety considerations are incorporated from start to finish.
• Address questions and issues during construction.
• Proactively improve practices, procedures, and maintain networks to stay informed of new developments.

MECHANICAL DESIGNER II

In this position, you will provide mechanical design services for a variety of clients. Clients will include midstream oil and gas, industrial and commercial. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction personnel. Provide CAD drawings from conceptual design to completed engineering.

In this role you will…

• Provide piping design for a variety of clients. Work directly with the lead piping designer as well as lead engineers during the development of the drawing packages.
• Develop the design and construction documents, including PFD's, P&ID's, plans and sections, piping drawings, details, isometrics, and bill of materials.
• Ensure that cost, customer service, quality, schedule and safety considerations are incorporated into the design from commencement through completion.
• Address questions and issues during construction.
• Proactively work on best practices, internal procedures, and maintaining internal and external networks to be informed of new developments in the field.

As the ideal candidate you have …

• Previous piping design/drafting experience is required (3-6 years).
• Past experience including diverse experience and a variety of project types.
• The ability to plan, organize and communicate with team members and client representatives.
• The ability to work extended hours as needed to meet critical deadlines.
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD version 2024 and CADWorx2023 and Navisworx 3D piping software.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and MS SharePoint.
• Experience with Plant 3D and Autodesk Revit software is a plus.
