Job summary

FNA Group is seeking a Mechanical Designer I to create 3D SolidWorks models and detailed drawings for parts and assemblies. You will help assemble prototypes and maintain engineering data while applying ASME Y14.5 drafting practices.

The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. Experience with machining, sheet metal, and plastics is a plus.

Primary Purpose:

The Mechanical Designer I creates 3D SolidWorks models and assemblies that meet criteria set forth by Engineering and Product Management. Create detailed drawings of parts and assemblies, applying correct tolerances and using industry standard (ASME Y14.5) drafting practices. The Mechanical Designer I works hands-on to help assemble prototypes and marketing samples.

Job Description:

• Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.

Preferred

• Strong mechanical intuition.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and PDM.
• Proficient with SolidWorks Sheet Metal.
• Hands on experience with machining, metal fabrication (sheet metal, tubing, weldments), and plastics.
• Ability to perform tolerance analysis and select proper fits based on application.
• Understanding of basic GD&T.

Education/Certification:

Required

• High School Diploma.

Preferred

• Technical degree in mechanical design or in a similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
• SolidWorks certification.
• Previous experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment or Power Tools industry is a plus.
• Experience working in a multi-channel retail business/industry is a plus.
