Job summary

Ascential Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in hydraulic systems to design and optimize automation equipment. You will develop hydraulic circuits, select components, and create 3D models for manufacturability.

You will collaborate with project engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and safety standards, while adhering to schedules and Burke Porter guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design for automation equipment, specializing in hydraulic systems.
• Strong proficiency in 3D SolidWorks.
• Experience with hydraulic components and system design.

Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic circuits and systems using AUTOCAD CAD software.
• Research technical information concerning purchased components and document in the BOM.
• Produce mechanical solid models using SOLIDWORKS to position hydraulic components for plumbing.
• Specify manifolds to reduce costs and improve hydraulic performance.
• Select proper hydraulic conductors including tubing, pipes, hoses, fittings, with pressure/flow considerations.
• Take directions from the project engineer to meet design/function requirements and schedules.
• Ensure plumbing methods are cost-effective and designs are manufacturable.
• Meet with Customer representatives to review and modify design functionality.
• Ensure compliance with Burke Porter Standards, industry engineering standards, and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
