Job summary

EXP is seeking a Mechanical Designer/ Engineer to join our team in Florida or Texas. You will contribute to aviation, data centers, and commercial building projects, performing CAD work in a mechanical team and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

The role requires hands-on design using Revit MEP, knowledge of HVAC systems, and strong communication. Bachelor’s in engineering and EIT is desirable for advancement and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in designing Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for Aviation, Data and Commercial Building projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, specializing in plumbing and fire protection.
• AutoCAD and REVIT MEP familiarity.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• EIT Certification is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on CAD using Revit platforms.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations with Trace, Energy Pro, DOE.
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for HVAC details.
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects.

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of theMechanical team,for Aviation, Data Centers, and Commercial Buildings projectsin one of multiple locations in Florida or Texas.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Perform hands-on CAD using Revit platforms
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE)
• Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings
• Understand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application
• Communicate with equipment vendors to determine requirements for applying products
• Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines (mep, fp, arch, struct, etc) for HVAC details
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects
• Understand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan
• Understand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment

What your experience looks like

• 2+ years in designing Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for Aviation, Data and Commercial Building projects or recent graduate with internship experience in the plumbing and fire protection space.
• AnEngineering Bachelor’s degree specializing, preferably specializing in plumbing and fire protection.
• Auto CAD, REVIT MEP familiar
• Good Written and verbal communication
• EIT Certification is desired
