Job summary

KEY Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Decatur, AL. You will execute design practices, detail drawings to scale with proper standards, and revise drawings under supervision.

The role requires the ability to read P&ID’s, develop piping isometrics, and prepare material specifications. You will coordinate multiple design sheets, estimate CAD time, and engage in potential client contact as needed.

Qualifications

• AS in Design field or CAD certification with 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with AutoCAD (current version) and piping/isometrics.
• Ability to read P&ID diagrams and modify/create piping isometrics.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design projects within the discipline.
• Detail drawings to scale with correct dimensions, symbols, and material specs.
• Correct and revise drawings as directed.
• Identify equipment functions during walk-downs and verification.
• Generate BOMs and manage multi-sheet projects with references.
• Estimate CAD and field time for tasks within discipline.
• Interface with clients when needed; support business development.
