PeopleReady of La Crosse, WI is hiring a Mechanical Designer in Winona, MN. The designer creates designs and technical documentation for mechanical devices and equipment, with experience in automated equipment, gear reduction, servo and VFD drives.

You will interact with customers, travel to facilities to discuss processes, and design complete machine assemblies while following company procedures. You will deliver presentations and track progress, coordinating with machining, welding, purchasing

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design or similar role.
• Experience with designing machinery and automated equipment is essential.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent is required.
• Strong CAD skills, including AutoCAD and macros/ VB scripting are desirable.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to establish machinery requirements and processes.
• Travel to customer facilities to discuss manufacturing concepts.
• Design and manage complete machine assemblies in line with design procedures.
• Deliver design presentations to internal and customer teams.
• Track design progress for multiple equipment pieces and maintain consistency.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $56,000 - $75,000 / annually*

What you'll be doing as a Mechanical Designer:

• Customer interaction to help establish machinery requirements and determining automated processes

• Traveling to customer facilities to discuss and understand manufacturing process and concepts

• Design and manage complete machine assemblies while maintaining company design procedures

• Delivering design presentations with both internal and customer teams to ensure all requirements are satisfied

• Tracking design progress of multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously, and ensuring design consistency

• Creation of documentation for the machine build process

• Interaction and cooperation with other departments. (Machining, Welding, Purchasing, Assembly)

Job requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience

• High Mechanical Aptitude

• Complex problem solving

• Autodesk Inventor experience (or similar)

• AutoCad, Macros, Visual Basic, and Excel skills desirable

• Strong Communication Skills

• Works well under pressure
