Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Mechanical Designer to generate precise 3D CAD drawings and 2D fabrication/spool drawings, while creating BOMs for fabrication. You will work within a multi-discipline team and proactively communicate on schedules and technical challenges.

Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD Plant 3D is required, with Revit as an asset. CSWP is preferred. The role supports diverse markets including water, industrial, municipal and electronics sectors.

Qualifications

• College diploma or equivalent with CAD drafting/design using SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS Routing and Weldments add-ins.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and practices.

As a Mechanical Designer you will be responsible for;

• Generate accurate 3D CAD drawings [70%]
• Produce 2D fabrication, spool drawings and generate bills of materials for fabrication [30%]
• Work within a multi-discipline team and proactively communicate on schedule and technical challenges [100%]
• Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and/or AutoCAD Plant 3D. Experience in Revit an asset.
• CSWP (Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional) preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions
• Acts as resource for more junior designers
• Has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in mechanical design of water/wastewater skids or plants.
• Food and Beverage, Industrial, Municipal and Micro Electronics markets experience preferred

Qualifications;

• College diploma, associate, bachelor’s degree or 5+ years CAD drafting/design or equivalent experience, with use of SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS Routing and Weldments add-ins
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and practices

Salary Range: $75k-95k

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
