Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Designer to own engineering documentation and mechanical drafting for multiple hardware products. You will develop BOMs, GD&T drawings, and manage PLM-related workflows for rapid production scaling.

The role requires extensive CAD experience, familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with manufacturable, reusable designs. U.S. Secret clearance eligibility is preferred.

Anduril’s Engineering Team is seeking a Mechanical Designer to lead our initiatives in hardware product development. In this role you will take full ownership of the Engineering Documentation and mechanical drafting for multiple hardware products at Anduril. Your responsibilities will encompass the design and documentation of both Electrical and Mechanical components within assemblies. The ideal candidate for this role possesses extensive experience with CAD systems, BOM management, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, along with a proven ability to rapidly design complex hardware systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Leadthe creation and maintenance of detailed Bills of Materials for a set of hardware products, Engineering Change Notice documentation, and traceability of design changes from initial prototype to ongoing production.
• Developdetailed dimensional drawings for mechanical, electrical, and optical components to industry standards.
• Conducttolerance build-up analysis and create GD&T drawings.
• Serve as theon-site experton Teamcenter, guiding multiple stakeholders on best practices and various use cases.
• Overseeongoing maintenance and design changes on existing hardware products, ensuring thorough documentation of changes.
• Drivethe establishment of the Product Lifecycle framework, including engineering design release workflows, data models on parts, and the development of business tool automation driven by engineering releases.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in detailed CAD drafting of complex mechanical systems, including structures, mechanisms, fluid systems, and electromechanical systems.
• Prior experience using Siemens NX and Team Centeror other variety of CAD tools.
• Knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5
• Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where products are manufactured at scale.
• Extensive knowledge of standard mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including metal molding, forming, joining, machining, complex assembly, additive manufacturing, wire harness fabrication, and printed circuit board fabrication.
• 5+ years of experience maintaining and enhancing a Product Lifecycle Management system, serving as a ‘subject matter expert’ for the team/company.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Preference for Teamcenter experience.
• Familiarity with optical components, including individual elements.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard manufacturing processes, including metal molding, forming, joining, machining, complex assembly, additive manufacturing, wire harness fabrication, and/or printed circuit board fabrication.

US Salary Range

$129,000—$171,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
