Job summary

Averro is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its team, focusing on custom process equipment and fabrication-driven projects. You will create 2D/3D models, shop drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs using SolidWorks, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with ASME/ANSI standards.

The role balances standard and custom equipment design, requiring collaboration with engineers, electrical designers, and assembly staff to deliver precise drawings within tolerance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or CAD certification required; or BSME with 2-3 years of experience.
• SolidWorks proficiency required; associate level candidates: 10+ years piping design ideal, or machining, sheet metal, or large fabrication design experience.
• Strong drafting skills; knowledge of piping, structural steel bases, and sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D/3D models, general assembly, layout, and as-built drawings in SolidWorks.
• Produce fabrication shop drawings per ASME/ANSI standards, plus P&IDs, part numbers, and bills of materials.
• Support standard (30%) and custom (70%) equipment designs, including modifications to existing systems.
• Coordinate with engineers, electrical designers, and assembly technicians to ensure drawings are manufacturable within tolerance.

Role & Responsibilities We are seeking a Mechanical Designer for a custom process equipment manufacturer, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in SolidWorks, piping, and fabrication design looking to further their career in industrial equipment manufacturing.

• Create 2D/3D models, general assembly, layout, and as-built drawings in SolidWorks
