Actalent seeks a Mechanical Designer in Baltimore, MD to independently run design projects from concept through construction documents for commercial and government facilities. You will use AutoCAD and ideally Revit to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs on multi-discipline and single-discipline projects.

• Independently run mechanical design projects, managing multiple assignments and priorities with minimal supervision.
• Perform mechanical design services for multi-discipline building design projects of small to large scope for commercial and government facilities.
• Execute mechanical engineering design for single-discipline projects of small to large scope.
• Develop and participate in all phases of mechanical design, including conceptual studies, programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Prepare accurate, complete, and code-compliant drawings and specifications for schematic design and design development phases.
• Use AutoCAD as a primary tool to create, modify, and coordinate mechanical design drawings.
• Collaborate and coordinate closely with other disciplines to ensure integrated and conflict-free design solutions.
• Support the Mechanical Engineer or Principal by providing timely design deliverables and responding to design review comments.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles and MEP design standards to ensure functional, efficient, and compliant building systems.
• Contribute to drafting and documentation efforts to support project submissions, permitting, and construction.
• Maintain organized project documentation and adhere to internal standards and procedures throughout the design process.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-office position, working five days per week with 8-hour days. Start times are flexible between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., allowing you to choose what works best for you within that window. You will work in a collaborative office environment that relies on AutoCAD and, where applicable, Revit and other CAD tools to deliver mechanical and MEP design projects. The culture emphasizes both professional growth and an enjoyable workplace, with a variety of social activities such as ping pong, corn hole, Xbox, Wii, and dart tournaments. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $43.27/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
