Job summary

Peak Energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Intern to contribute to our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team. You will engage in mechanical design tasks for modular enclosures, high-current conductors, and harnessing, collaborating with thermal/structural analysts and manufacturing groups to translate concepts into testable prototypes.

You will learn hands-on, working toward validation from concept to field deployment, supporting a transition to mass production, and embracing a collaborative,

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or equivalent degree
  • Strong grasp of mechanical and thermal engineering fundamentals
  • Basic understanding of power electronics and electrical fundamentals
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software
  • Experience with building prototypes
  • Passion for renewable energy and environmental impact
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on design areas of need such as module enclosure, adhesives, plastic components, high current conductors, and harnessing
  • Interface with thermal and structural analysts to inform design decisions
  • Drive and participate in rapid prototyping and testing
  • Support validation from concept through field deployment
  • Ensure smooth transition from maturation to mass production
  • Demonstrate team spirit and a can-do attitude.
