Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN invites an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering intern to join the Mechanical Development Unit for a Summer-Fall 2027 internship. This full-time, on-site program runs May/June through December and offers hands-on CAD work, prototype development, and collaborative projects with Mechanical Engineers and other disciplines.

Mentors will guide you through design, verification/validation, manufacturing considerations, and documentation within Mayo's Division of Engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• CAD work using SolidWorks on assigned components and systems.
• Prototype development with traditional and additive manufacturing.
• Perform verification testing and document results.
• Participate in design reviews and support engineering documentation.
