Summary

As a member of the Steam Power Services engineering team in the Americas, you will play a key role in service engineering activities, including outage planning and execution, providing technical guidance to field engineers and customers, leading complex repairs at sites or service centers, conducting root‑cause analysis, and designing steam turbine components. You will collaborate with global design engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and high‑quality product solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance to field engineers and service managers during outage planning and execution for industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines.
  • Lead complex repairs on rotors, diaphragms, casings, valves, and other components at service centers.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for complex repair projects, coordinating with sales, project managers, sourcing, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering requirements and project deliverables.
  • Serve as Project Engineering Manager for steam turbine projects, including upgrades, engineering studies, and valve solutions.
  • Develop inspection and test plans for site assembly/disassembly and repair scopes.
  • Participate in product qualification processes, design reviews, and technical risk discussions.
  • Support parts engineering and sourcing teams with product design (form, fit, and function).
  • Address product/process non‑conformances and implement corrective/preventive actions through root‑cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with sales, service directors, repair centers, field engineers, and parts engineering groups.
  • Domestic travel to customer sites (5–10%).
Must‑Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in steam turbine service engineering.
  • 2+ years of field execution experience, preferably in the power generation industry.
Plusses
  • Experience with CATIA CAD drafting.
  • Knowledge of steam turbine and balance‑of‑plant systems and operations.
  • Familiarity with inspection methods and repairs for rotating and stationary components.
  • Exposure to steam turbine disassembly, assembly, startups, and operations.

    Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work collaboratively across teams.

    Agile, receptive, and eager to learn.

    Compensation

    Hourly: $45/hr to $51/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Benefits

    Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
