Job summary

KPIT is seeking a Product Design Engineer to design and develop electrical products for data center applications. You will perform calculations, select components, size cables, and develop wiring schematics, while designing UL-compliant control panels and integrating motors, VFDs, transformers, and protection devices.

You will create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks and PLM systems, implement ECO/ECM changes, and support lifecycle activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or Electrical Design Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drawings, and product documentation.
• Experience in electrical product design, control panels, power distribution systems, or data center infrastructure products.
• Knowledge of electrical components, motor controls, VFDs, transformers, protection devices, wiring schematics, and cable sizing.
• Experience with CAD, BOM management, PLM systems, and Engineering Change Management processes.
• Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, manufacturing support, and product validation skills.
