Job Title: Design Engineer, axle or related Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Design Engineer to design and modify axle components and assemblies. The successful candidate will utilize Siemens NX for 3D modeling and 2D drawings, create and maintain engineering documentation, and collaborate with various teams to ensure successful product designs. Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Design and modify axle components and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, and design documentation within PLM/PDM systems.
• Develop and maintain DVP&R documentation in collaboration with validation and test engineering teams.
• Support prototype builds, testing, root cause analysis, and implementation of design improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, purchasing, and global teams.
• Apply engineering methodologies including DFMEA, FEA, and DOE to support product performance and reliability.
• Participate in technical reviews and represent the design team as needed.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck axle design and development.
• Proficiency with Siemens NX for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems and engineering change management.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of DVP&R, DFMEA, and basic FEA principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work hands-on with physical components during prototype and testing activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with axle systems, driveline components, differentials, or related vehicle systems.
• Familiarity with prototype validation, durability testing, and root cause analysis.
• Experience working in cross-functional and global engineering environments.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite, where you will collaborate with various teams and handle physical components during prototype and testing activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Redford, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
