Job summary

Satyam Venture Engineering Services in Michigan seeks an experienced Product Design Engineer to lead technical solutions during quotation phases, develop TDRs to win new business, and provide cost and hours estimates. You will design with NX/CATIA, perform tolerance calculations, and drive design reviews to closure.

Responsibilities include coordinating timing plans, managing design status, supporting DV/PV testing, troubleshooting during development, and interfacing with customers on design

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of Product Design Engineering experience in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions in the quotation phase according to customer requirements and company standards.
• Prepare and provide technical design review (TDR) document to win new business.
• Provide engineering hours and cost information in the quotation phase.
• Conduct product design and create 3D model/2D drawing in NX or CATIA, relative technical specifications and documents.
• Conduct tolerance calculations and implement them into designs.
• Conduct design reviews and close open issues found in the review.
• Work out mechanical design timing plan based on project timing.
• Manage product design status (timing, risks, customer requirements), and elevate to the correct level if necessary.
• Provide technical support for DV and PV testing plan.
• Troubleshoot in the development phase and support field complaints.
• Participate in DFMEA and FMEA as lead and moderator.
• Join and support trial runs in the manufacturing plant before SOP.
• Directly interface with the Customer regarding product design, specification development, work requests, and cost reduction activities.
