Job summary

Satyam Venture Engineering Services in Farmington Hills, MI seeks an experienced Product Design Engineer to deliver technical solutions during quotation, develop 3D models and drawings, and support DV/PV testing plans. You will drive design reviews, tolerance analyses, and customer collaborations to reduce costs while meeting standards.

The role requires strong leadership in DFMEA/FMEA, on-time design execution, and hands-on project pacing across engineering stages and manufacturing trials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 8+ years of Product Design Engineering experience in automotive.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions in quotation phase per customer requirements and company standards.
• Prepare and provide TDR (Technical Design Review) documents to win new business.
• Provide engineering hours and cost information in the quotation phase.
• Conduct product design and create 3D model/2D drawing in NX or CATIA, with relative specs and docs.
• Conduct tolerance calculations and implement them into designs.
• Conduct design reviews and close open issues found in the review.
• Manage product design timing; assess risks and communicate with stakeholders.
• Provide technical support for DV and PV testing plans.
• Troubleshoot development phase issues and support field complaints.
• Participate in DFMEA and FMEA as lead and moderator.
• Join and support trial runs in manufacturing before SOP.
• Interface with customers regarding product design, specifications, work requests, and cost reduction activities.

• Prepare and provide technical design review (TDR) document to win new business.
• Provide engineering hours and cost information in the quotation phase.
• Conduct product design and create 3D model/2D drawing in NX or CATIA, relative technical specifications and documents
• Conduct tolerance calculations and implement them into designs.
• Conduct design reviews and close open issues found in the review.
• Work out mechanical design timing plan based on project timing.
• Manage product design status (timing, risks, customer requirements), and elevate to the correct level if necessary.
• Provide technical support for DV and PV testing plan.
• Troubleshoot in the development phase and support field complaints.
• Participate in DFMEA and FMEA as lead and moderator.
• Join and support trial runs in the manufacturing plant before SOP.
• Directly interface with the Customer regarding product design, specification development, work requests, and cost reduction activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline and a minimum of 8 years of Product Design Engineering experience within the automotive industry.
