Job summary

Roush is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join our Vehicle Engineering team in Allen Park, MI. You will develop 3D CAD models, manage assemblies, and translate customer needs into feasible mechanical concepts while ensuring design for manufacturability and reliability.

The role requires at least 2 years in automotive, aerospace, or related industries, plus a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, with exposure to DFMEA,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work on multiple programs simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models of mechanical systems and subsystems.
• Build, manage, and validate configurable assemblies with interference checks.
• Translate customer needs into clear design requirements and concepts.
• Create and refine solid and surface models meeting DFM/DFX requirements.
• Produce 2D manufacturing drawings with GD&T and documentation.
• Use CAE tools to validate and refine designs.
• Communicate design status and risks to internal and external stakeholders.
