Job summary

Kord, a wholly owned subsidiary of KBR, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and integrate systems for High Energy Laser platforms. Drafts detailed CAD drawings and collaborates with systems, mechanical, electrical engineers and program leadership.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering, 2+ years of experience, US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance, with extensive SolidWorks experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; 2+ years of experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Extensive experience with SolidWorks CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Exercises independent judgment based on design intent.
• Interpret general designs to complete details.
• Coordinate drafting projects and liaise with engineers.
• Gather product and structural requirements and designs.
• Compute dimensions and material requirements.
• Describe production methods and equipment used.
• Create detailed CAD designs.
• Illustrate workflow with diagrams and layouts.
• Review rough sketches with engineering team.
• Identify operational issues and redesign for function.
