Critical Facility Group is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design mechanical systems for data centers and mission-critical facilities, guiding projects from concept through construction. You'll perform load calculations, CFD modeling, and Revit modeling, select equipment, and coordinate with electrical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure reliable operation in live environments.
Remote-first with opportunities to visit sites as needed; we value hands-on design, rigorous review
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Critical Facility Group, you'll design mechanical systems for data centers and other mission-critical facilities, taking projects from early concept through construction. You'll perform hands-on design work — load calculations, CFD modeling, Revit modeling, and equipment selection — and coordinate closely with electrical, architectural, and structural teams on the same project.
You'll also see your designs move into the field. You'll review contractor submittals and RFIs, participate in site visits and construction inspections, and work directly with project teams to resolve issues as things get built.
This role fits an engineer who already has mechanical design experience and is ready to take on more responsibility, whether or not they've worked specifically on data centers before. You'll be involved throughout a project's life — not just producing one section of a drawing set — and get to see how your designs are coordinated, constructed, and ultimately operate in the field.
We're a remote-first team, and the people on it bring years of experience in data center design, construction, and operations. You'll work on mechanical systems for facilities where reliability and long-term operation are genuinely critical, on projects ranging from ground-up builds to work inside live, operating environments. As you take on more complex work, you'll have real opportunities to grow toward licensure and leadership.
