Job summary

Agilis Engineering, Inc. is seeking Mechanical Design Engineer(s) of all experience levels to balance requirements and constraints in complex machines.

The role involves designing across conceptual to detailed levels, on projects using varied software, with hybrid/on-site positions in several locations including Oklahoma City, OK. Responsibilities include designing to meet requirements, performing preliminary analyses, delivering compliant with QMS, mentoring others, participating in reviews,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical and/or aerospace engineering.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of advanced engineering methods, tools and procedures.
  • Ability to perform analyses using hand calculations, spreadsheets and software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance, if required.
  • Able to sit for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Create conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs meeting requirements for functionality, weight, cost and schedule.
  • Perform preliminary analyses to confirm design integrity prior to final analysis or drafting.
  • Deliverables aligned with Agilis QMS and quality processes.
  • Maintain proficiency with Agilis analysis tools and customer tools.
  • Work in a team and participate in customer reviews.
  • Identify and resolve problems; develop alternative solutions in group settings.
  • Align task execution with overall program plan regarding schedule and budget.
  • Provide in-house mentoring and instruction on techniques and tools.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

Job description

Agilis is looking for Mechanical Design Engineer(s) with all levels of experience. The successful design of any complex machine is the result of the balance achieved between requirements and constraints. The Mechanical Design Engineer is the individual who achieves that balance, weighing all the factors that can influence a design. Successful candidates for our positions will be able to work on a variety of projects using a variety of software. Positions available in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Columbia & Greenville, SC, Oklahoma City, OK and San Diego, CA.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: include but are not limited to those listed and will include other duties as required from time to time:

Responsibilities/ Duties: include but not limited to:

  • Create conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs which meet all design requirements, including functionality, assembly/disassembly, weight, cost, and schedule.
  • Perform preliminary analyses to confirm the integrity of the design prior to final analysis or initiation of task in drafting and communicate hardware requirements
  • Deliverables are to be consistent with requirements stated in the Agilis Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain a strong proficiency, through periodic training and frequent use, with generally accepted Agilis analysis tools and customer required tools
  • Ability to work on a team, be a team player and dependable
  • Active participation in customer reviews at the discretion of the IPT Lead.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations
  • understand and work to meet the schedule, budget, and deliverable expectations for each assigned task know how that task integrates into the whole program plan.
  • Provide in-house support and mentoring including assisting or instructing others in the use of techniques and tools.
  • Performs other tasks as required.

Education/Experience: include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of engineering (e.g. mechanical and/or aerospace)
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook (or similar programs)
  • Thorough knowledge of most advanced engineering methods, tools and procedures;
  • Has the ability to perform analyses to verify the integrity of the detailed thermal and flow systems solutions using appropriate tools, including but not limited to hand calculations, spreadsheets and other software
  • Collects and researches data skillfully; uses intuition and experience to complement data; ability to perform preliminary or final analyses
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and customers.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance, if required
  • Physical Demands: Able to sit for long periods of time; able to work at a computer desk or workstation; able to perform light physical duties such as lifting and carrying up to 30lbs
