Job summary

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to conceive, prototype, and deploy modular data-collection systems across Amazon’s fulfillment network. You will collaborate with ML scientists, field engineers, and global customers to design scalable, pluggable sensor configurations and housing for diverse environments.

You’ll lead cross-functional projects, work with cameras, optics, sensors, and control systems, and deliver results within months in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD with best practices for part design and advanced assemblies.
• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing large, complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for mounting cameras, optics, sensors, wiring, computer systems, and supporting infrastructure.
• Apply knowledge of industrial measurement, controls, mechanical conveyance, and safety systems.

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) is seeking a mechanical design engineer to conceive, develop, prototype and deploy modular data‑collection systems at scale. These systems will be installed in a wide variety of environments across Amazon’s fulfillment network and must be modular and pluggable to support multiple sensors and configurations. The role involves collaborating with machine‑learning scientists, fulfillment associates, labeling teams, field engineering and maintenance personnel, and a diverse range of customers worldwide.
