Job summary

Pearson Packaging Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Spokane, WA. You will prepare detailed packaging machinery designs, BOMs, and cost estimates from written and verbal specifications and supervise design support through commissioning.

You will collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Assembly, and Service, delivering robust, cost-effective machine solutions and applying your solid modeling expertise across teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Able to prepare thorough and detailed machinery designs.
• Knowledge of solid modeling design; SolidWorks preferred; robotics integration a plus.
• Travel up to 25%.
• Excellent technical, verbal communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• PDM/DriveWorks/Emulate 3D a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed secondary packaging equipment designs based on specifications.
• Produce BOMs, cost estimates, and specifications for customers.
• Supervise design support functions and troubleshoot from development to commissioning.

Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer for Pearson Packaging Systems, you will prepare detailed secondary packaging equipment designs based on written and verbal specifications of desired machinery functions. You will prepare detailed specification, BOM’s, and cost estimates for our customers, and also supervise design support functions and troubleshoot issues as necessary from the development through commissioning. You will provide support to Sales, Project Management, Assembly, and Service both in the field and on the phone as needed.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of related experience
• Ability to prepare thorough and detailed machinery designs
• Demonstrated knowledge of solid modeling design and machine design. Robotics integration experience is a plus
• Ability to travel up to 25%
