Job summary

n6 in Pleasanton, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team focused on genomic sample preparation hardware. You will design electromechanical assemblies and validate them through testing, collaborating across engineering disciplines to solve complex hardware challenges.

Ideal candidates will bring experience with 3D CAD tools and a strong track record of working on electromechanical systems, with a passion for advancing genomics through rigorous engineering.

Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D CAD drawing software such as Solidworks, Inventor, or Onshape.
  • Experience designing electromechanical assemblies.
  • Project experience demonstrating self-starter and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Design parts and assemblies for electromechanical instruments.
  • Produce mechanical drawings using GD&T.
  • Manage system level CAD and BOM.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineer to design electromechanical parts.
  • Conduct tests to validate designs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work with manufacturing to transition designs to production.

About Us

We are a rapidly growing biotech organization based in Pleasanton, CA, focused on developing next-generation sample preparation tools that are revolutionizing genomic applications. Our technology relies on precise control of complex physical and chemical processes. We are at a critical inflection point in bringing our product to market and are seeking an analytically rigorous Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Design parts and assemblies for electromechanical instruments
  • Design mechanical components made with the following processes: CNC machining, casting, 3D printing, injection molding, sheet metal
  • Produce mechanical drawings using GD&T
  • Manage system level CAD and BOM
  • Work with electrical engineer to design and specify electromechanical parts
  • Conduct tests to validate designs and troubleshoot issues
Education
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with 3D CAD drawing software such as Solidworks, Inventor, or Onshape (not exclusive)
  • Experience designing electromechanical assemblies
  • Project experience demonstrating the following traits: self-starter, ability to work with a team,
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM
  • Experience integrating systems with automation platforms
  • Experience solving complex multi-disciplinary problems
