Job summary

OmniOn Power is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably electronics packaging, to join our power system development team.

You will work on cross-functional teams to design DC power systems for data center and telecommunications markets, applying knowledge of sheet metal, cable, PCB and plastic parts, thermal management, DFM, and Creo.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1-3 years experience in mechanical design, preferably electronics packaging.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and perform thermal analysis and testing in the lab.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models with Creo; produce part and assembly definitions.
• Ensure designs meet time-to-market and target costs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, and systems engineering teams.
• Support tooling, fixtures, and quality inspections.

Job Summary

OmniOn Power is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with 1- 3 years experience in mechanical design (preferably in electronics packaging or electronic system design) to join our power system development team. The candidate will work as part of a cross functional team designing DC power system products that support Data Center and Telecommunications markets. Technical knowledge desired includes sheet metal, cable, PCB and plastic design, thermal management, DFM, and proficiency with Pro-Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new products, including product concept, thermal analysis and simulation, design documentation, as well as testing and characterization of the design in the lab with the help of your technical support staff
• Assure all component designs meet requirements including time-to-market and product target cost.
• Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D drawings, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection
• Create CAD models in a linked model environment using Creo, as well as check, validate, and issue Creo associated drawings
• Derive electronic data models for use in engineering analysis (Ansys) manufacturing of tools, fixtures, and gages, and support quality inspections
• Work as part of cross functional teams including manufacturing, sourcing, global engineering, and systems engineering in developing and on-going support of state of the art AC/DC power systems.
• Develop and implement cutting edge technologies into product designs.

Job Requirements:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 1 - 3 years experience in product development of power system products
• Good verbal and written communication skills
