Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Responsibilities

• Designs and analyzes electro‑mechanical components and systems. Develops drawings and specifications for new and modified designs.
• Supports manufacturing and testing of electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Provides engineering design, maintenance support and training for new product and equipment.
• Assesses new and existing equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Designs and conducts experiments, collects data, interprets results; writes analysis and test reports.
• Plans, coordinates, and executes engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and presentations.
• Designs new equipment and machinery; assists in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
• Determines maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety standards for current and new equipment.
• Determines technical objectives and develops innovative solutions to advance technical engineering problems; provides technical support to failure investigations and bid responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum 2‑10 years of experience in manufacturing and design of engineered products.
• Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators, propulsors).
• Proficient in GD&T, CAD systems, CAE systems, and FEA methods.
• Ability to create models and drawings, present design reviews, and perform trade studies and design reviews.
• Capable of coordinating multiple project responsibilities; must be a team player and have knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
• Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Salary: $76,200.00 - $127,000.00 per year. This range is a general guideline reflecting a position based in PA. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and market considerations.
