Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking a temp-to-perm Mechanical Design Engineer in New York. The role focuses on creating mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and Creo CAD under senior supervision.

You will ensure manufacturability, perform engineering calculations, and select materials while maintaining CAD models, BOMs, ECRs, and PDM records. Prototyping and basic QC are also involved.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering preferred; 1–3+ years design experience.
• SolidWorks and Creo CAD experience required or preferred.
• Strong CAD modeling with part/assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical designs using SolidWorks and Creo CAD under supervision of senior engineers.
• Ensure manufacturability and proper material selection; perform calculations.
• Maintain CAD models, drawings, BOM, ECRs, and PDM documentation.

• Temp-to-perm mechanical design engineer position.
• Primary responsibilities will include: Create mechanical designs using SolidWorks and Creo CAD under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Apply design for manufacturability and assembly, engineering calculations and material selection.
• Maintain controlled CAD models, drawings, BOM, Engineering Changes, documentation control, revision control and PDM systems.
• Ability to work on prototyping concepts which requires basic mechanical tools and skills.
• Perform basic Quality Control measurements of incoming parts and assemblies.
• Minimum AAS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• BS in mechanical engineering preferred. 1-3+ years experience with mechanical design using SolidWorks and Creo CAD preferred.
• Strong CAD modeling skills including part modeling, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
