Job summary

Organ Preservation Technology is actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D team in a Hybrid role based in New Jersey. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies while collaborating with electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing teams under the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

You will own CAD design, verification testing, supplier coordination, prototype builds, and ISO 13485 documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proficient in CAD design, SolidWorks preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Good problem solving and communication skills.
• Experience in a regulated industry, ideally medical devices, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Working with manufacturing and suppliers to keep designs practical to build

A commercial stage organ technology company, pioneering normothermic machine perfusion. Their flagship platform has supported thousands of liver transplants worldwide, keeping donor organs viable outside the body for longer and improving transplant outcomes.

This is a Mechanical Design Engineer role sitting within R&D. You will design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing teams. You will report to the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
