Job summary

Rennline Automotive is seeking an engineer with a passion for sports cars to join our team. You will use 3D CAD to create models and drawings, prototypes, and bring designs from prototyping to production while collaborating with suppliers and the engineering team.

You will create and update detailed documentation including BOMs and assembly drawings, work with the media team on instructions, and perform quality control using 3D scanning and in-house tools.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering required.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CAD design software, particularly SolidWorks (2D/3D).
  • Able to create technical drawings with GD&T.
  • Manufacturing experience and general understanding of manufacturing processes required.

Responsibilities

  • Use 3D CAD to create models and manufacturing drawings; model, drawing, BOM creation.
  • Prototype and test using the workshop and 3D printers; support production transfer.
  • Collaborate with engineering to confirm designs and communicate with suppliers.
  • Create and update documentation for parts and assemblies; support install videos.
  • Quality control of outsourced and in-house parts; use 3D scanning when needed.

Requirements

#1 - Must be a true car enthusiast! We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about sports cars to join the team.

Part Design/prototyping/ordering
  • Use 3D CAD to create models and manufacturing drawings of products. Strong experience in 3D modelling and an eye for industrial design preferred.
    • SolidWorks – Must have experience
    • Rhino 3D/ 3D surface modelling – Bonus if you have experience
    • 3D Scanning and/or 3D Printing Experience is a bonus.
  • Prototyping and testing.
    • Use and maintain our fleet of 5 X1 Carbon Bamboo 3D printers
    • Use R&D workshop, automotive lift & tools, light manufacturing equipment for prototyping & testing.
  • Bring prototypes though to production
    • Work with the rest of the engineering team to confirm designs.
    • Communicate with suppliers
    • Work with the purchasing team to order
Create documentation for new and existing products
  • Create part and assembly drawings (including BOM’s) from existing & new 3D CAD models.
  • Work with suppliers to confirm correct manufacturing and assembly.
  • Created detailed instructions for customers
  • Work with the media team on install videos and instructions
Documentation updates and revisions
  • Update 3D CAD models according to accepted revision requests.
  • Update part and assembly drawings according to accepted revision requests.
Quality Control
  • Perform quality control tasks on outsourced and in-house manufactured parts
    • Use 3D scanning on complex parts, run reports.
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CAD design software, particularly SolidWorks (2D/3D).
