Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Milpitas, CA to advance innovation through mechanical design, analysis, and testing. The role focuses on vibration damping, UHV design, cleanroom packaging, and end-to-end project ownership with Creo modeling and Windchill PLM.

The candidate will develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to semiconductor-related projects.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Creo (parametric modeling, assemblies, GD&T, drawings)
• Hands-on experience in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) design and control
• Experience in optomechanical sub-system design
• Experience in mechanical assembly, testing, and functional validation
• Good understanding of OEM parts selection and mechanical interfaces
• Experience with Windchill or similar PLM tools
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies with emphasis on vibration and damping
• Lead UHV (vacuum) design and control considerations
• Design for cleanroom environments and packaging solutions for shipping/storage
• Hands-on involvement in mechanical assembly and testing
• Own end-to-end projects from concept to validation
• Develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using Creo

• Communicate, present, and document designs clearly

Role/Responsibilities

• Mechanical design with emphasis on vibration and damping.
• UHV (vacuum) design and control
• Design for cleanroom environments and packaging solutions for shipping/storage
• Hands‑on involvement in mechanical assembly and testing
• End-to-end project ownership and execution
• Develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using Creo
• Manage lifecycle activities using Windchill (ECO/ECR)
• Collaborate with stakeholders for design clarifications
• Excellent in communication, presentation and writing skills.
• Knowledge in Semiconductor domain will be an added advantage.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $40.38 per hour

Pay Range Maximum: $70.00 per hour
