Job summary

G&H Group is seeking an experienced engineer to assemble, align, test and configure opto-mechanical components in a cleanroom environment. You will work from released procedures and drawings, collaborating with engineers to deliver precision optical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical design, mechatronic systems, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), CUI/ITAR, and precision manufacturing.
• Proven technical aptitude with ability to discern approaches and communicate updates across organizational levels.
• Able to blend analytical thinking with practical judgment.

ROLE

The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, aligning, testing and configuring small form factor optical, electronic and mechanical components. All work is performed in accordance with released procedures and assembly drawings and in a clean room environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE MEASURES

• Conducting research, creating design proposals, troubleshooting issues, and performing quality control on opto-mechanical systems.
• Designing, analyzing, and testing opto-mechanical systems.
• Developing detailed mechanical and opto-mechanical designs.
• Creating and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Working closely with optical and mechanical engineers to integrate components.
• Performing system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Conducting performance tests and system integration.
• Collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Ensuring all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to the organization’s established policies and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experienced in Mechanical Design, Mechatronic Systems, Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5), Handling and securing Unclassified Controlled Information (CUI), ITAR., and designing for precision manufacturing processes.
• Proven technical aptitude with ability to discern technical approaches by asking the right questions of the team and communicate updates across multiple organizational levels.
• Able to make sound decisions by blending analytical thinking with practical judgment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7-10 years performing opto-mechanical design and development optical systems layout, optical systems and geometric tolerancing.
