You will design modular components, develop BOMs, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing to meet project requirements while ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design modular mechanical components and systems for manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop exploded views, mating surfaces, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping plans, process flow diagrams, GA drawings, and BOMs.
• Support packaged equipment system designs and plant layouts.
• Research materials, manufacturing methods, and design solutions to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Prepare design documentation, BOMs, assembly instructions, and production drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and other teams to meet project requirements.
• Review designs for functionality, manufacturability, safety, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

Job Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with 4+ years of experience in mechanical design, 3D modeling, equipment layouts, and modular systems. The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks experience and the ability to develop production-ready drawings and models for manufacturing and packaged equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop modular mechanical components and systems for manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, layouts, and technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop exploded views, mating surfaces, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping plans, process flow diagrams, GA drawings, and specifications.
• Support packaged equipment system designs and plant layouts.
• Research materials, manufacturing methods, and design solutions to improve performance and manufacturability.
• Prepare design documentation, BOMs, assembly instructions, and production drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and other teams to meet project requirements.

• Deliver accurate, high-quality design work within project schedules.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience with 3D modeling, assemblies, layouts, and detailed mechanical drawings.
• Experience with modular construction, packaged equipment, or plant/equipment design.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly methods.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, piping drawings, PFDs, GA drawings, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls equipment clearance requirements.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Self-starter with the ability to produce production-level drawings with limited direction.
