Job summary

Veriipro in Greensboro, NC seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to design components using Creo/Pro-E, create accurate 3D models and drawings, and apply DFM principles for production readiness.

You will lead VAVE projects, collaborate with manufacturing, quality and other teams, evaluate processes like machining, molding, casting and sheet metal, and perform FMEA/DOE analysis to drive improvements across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical product design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong 3D modeling with Creo/Pro-E.
• Experience with manufacturability design (DFM) and VAVE.
• Knowledge of machining, molding, casting, sheet metal.
• Cross-functional collaboration throughout product development.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using Creo/Pro-E.

• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation.

• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to optimize designs for production.

• Lead and support VAVE projects to improve product cost, quality, and performance.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.

• Conduct FMEA, DOE, Root Cause Analysis, and other engineering analyses to identify and resolve design issues.

• Review and validate designs against functional, performance, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

• Support prototyping, testing, design validation, and production implementation.

• Identify opportunities for design improvements, cost reduction, reliability, and process optimization.

• Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other technical documentation.

• Support troubleshooting and resolution of design and manufacturing issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Strong 3D solid modeling experience with PTC Creo/Pro-E.

• Experience with VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects.

• Experience designing products for manufacturability (DFM).

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and product development processes.

• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, casting, and sheet metal.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

• Experience with FMEA, DOE, and Root Cause Analysis.

• Knowledge of circuit board layout and mechanical integration.

• Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
