Job summary

TechDoQuest is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer in Fremont, CA. The candidate will lead machine design and R&D efforts, owning projects from concept through release.

Expertise in material selection, machining, sheet metal, and GD&T is required, with strong capability in SolidWorks and Pro/E to generate manufacturing drawings and support supplier interactions. • Strong in machine design and R&D design.
• Capable to own project delivery from concept to release.
• Knowledge of material selection, machining and fabrication processes.
• Calculations to define structures/loads and select OEMs and accessories.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Pro/E.
• Knowledge in sheet metal applications.
• Proficient with dimensional tolerancing (GD&T).
• Structural analysis knowledge.
• Awareness of manufacturing techniques.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Semiconductor industry background is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the project delivery from concept to release, ensuring milestones are met.
• Create manufacturing drawings with GD&T and ensure correct tolerances.
• Select appropriate materials, processes and OEM components for design goals.
• Perform structural calculations and analyses to validate designs.
• Utilize SolidWorks (and Pro/E) for detailed design and documentation.
• Coordinate with fabrication teams on sheet metal and machining processes.
• Prepare and present design reviews and negotiate specifications with suppliers.

Job description

JD:

Strong in Machine Design / R&D Design experience

Capable to own the project delivery completely (from concept to release)

Good Knowledge on Material Selection, Machining and Fabrication process and post processing operations.

Thorough knowledge in calculations to define structures/loads, choose the right OEM’s and its accessories in the market. Example – Linear Guides, Motors, gearbox, bearings, etc.

Good knowledge on using sheet metal applications wherever necessary.

Pro-efficient in creating manufacturing drawings, defining tolerances with GD&T

Pro-efficient in SolidWorks is a must & Pro-efficient in Pro/E

Knowledge in Structural Analysis

Awareness on Manufacturing techniques

Good Presentation and Negotiation Skills

• Semiconductor Industry background is added advantage
