The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, proficiency in SolidWorks, and experience creating detailed drawings and PDM workflows. Boulder facility emphasizes R&D and production of ultra-precision optics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree desirable.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Ability to create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Experience with Product Documentation Management (PDM) and DFMEA desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with internal customers to define mechanical requirements.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize timelines.
• Conduct analyses to validate designs and processes.
• Support NPI Technical Lead for manufacturability.
• Design tooling to support production of precision optics.
• Lead or participate in design reviews and peer reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who will design and model tooling and equipment to support optical fabrication and coating processes.

Main Responsibilities:

• Works with internal customers to ensure clear understanding of mechanical requirements.
• Self-starter, capable of managing own time on multiple, parallel projects.
• Conducts and coordinates analyses to assess and validate product designs and processes.
• Supports NPI Technical Lead to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
• Design tooling to support production of precision optics.
• Leads or supports design reviews and discipline-specific peer reviews.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field. Advanced degree desirable.
• Proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks).
• Build complicated assembly models and create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
• Experience with Product Documentation Management (PDM).
• Experience with DFMEA desirable.Effective communication and organizational skills.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience.
