MiniMed in Northridge, CA seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer I to join Operations Engineering. You’ll focus on SolidWorks drafting, creating and updating 2D drawings, fixtures, and tooling for production lines, while collaborating with R&D, Quality and Manufacturing to drive reliable, scalable manufacturing processes.

You’ll grow through mentorship, gain exposure to ECOs, DPQ testing, and tolerance analysis, and contribute to lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience.
• Willing to travel up to 20-30% domestically and internationally.
• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing, product development, or engineering environment is nice to have.
• Ability to read, interpret, and mark up mechanical engineering drawings.
• Solidworks drafting and 3D modeling experience required through coursework or projects.
• Foundational understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings in SolidWorks, with GD&T accuracy.
• Assist in designing fixtures, jigs, and tooling for production, prototyping, and testing.
• Support ECOs by updating drawings, BOMs and documentation through revision control.
• Maintain SolidWorks part files, assemblies, and configurations for tooling and components.
• Incorporate feedback from seniors and participate in design reviews to develop judgment.
