Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Controls Intern in East Hartford, CT to lead end-to-end requirements for mechanical control components. You will collaborate with suppliers, design teams, systems/software engineering, and manufacturing to ensure robust component solutions.

The role offers hands-on experience in requirements management, supplier engagement, and project ownership, with exposure to hardware test readiness and component qualification processes.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
• Minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
• Experience using CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

What You Will Do

The Control System Engineering & Electrification (CSEE) organization is seeking a Mechanical Controls Hardware Systems Engineer.The candidate will lead the end‑to‑end requirements lifecycle across complex mechanical systems, partnering closely with suppliers, design teams, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and program leadership to develop robust component solutions. This position drives technical rigor through requirements management, decomposition, and supplier engagement to ensure components meet system and program objectives.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
