OpenTrain AI, Inc. is seeking individuals to create mechanical design scenarios and evaluate AI responses for technical accuracy and manufacturability. This flexible, ongoing part-time contract work pays up to $75 per hour and is remote within the United States.

You'll design problems based on real CAD, tolerancing, and manufacturing workflows and provide structured feedback that reflects practical engineering judgment and sound engineering practice.

Competenze

• Substantial industry experience in mechanical design.
• Portfolio of manufactured designs and complex GD&T or FEA work.
• Hands-on mechanical engineering experience with parametric CAD, GD&T, DFM, or FEA/simulation.
• Candidates meeting at least two of the core qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Strong writing, attention to detail, and ability to explain complex design concepts clearly.
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

What it pays and takes

• Pay: Up to $75 per hour.
• Schedule: Flexible, part-time, ongoing project work with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement.
• Location: Open to candidates in the United States. Work remotely and asynchronously.
• The role calls for substantial industry experience in mechanical design and a portfolio of manufactured designs and complex GD&T or FEA work.
• Hands-on mechanical engineering experience and depth in parametric CAD, GD&T and design for manufacturing, or FEA and simulation are required. Candidates who meet at least two of the three core qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Strong writing, attention to detail, and the ability to explain complex design concepts clearly are required. A BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience with multiple CAD or simulation tools is helpful, including SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or Onshape. A portfolio showing designs from concept through manufacturing can demonstrate practical judgment.
