Job summary

The Toro Company in Bloomington is seeking a Drafter to create and maintain engineering documentation using CAD software, modifying detailed drawings of component parts and subassemblies for manufacturing.

This hybrid role offers three days onsite and up to two days from a home office, plus benefits including on-site café, wellness resources, volunteer hours, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment. A two-year degree in drafting is required, with CAD and GD&T knowledge encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting, Drafting Design, Electronics and Electrical/Mechanical Technology required.
• Bachelor's Degree with engineering technology related disciplines preferred.
• Drafter I: 0-2 years of experience with associate's degree
• Drafter II: 2+ years of experience with associate's degree or four (4) plus years related experience.
• Basic understanding of industry drafting standards (ANSI).
• Responsible for adhering to product Drafting Standards and Procedures.
• Understand the application of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with CAD software preferred.
• Ability to technically communicate with Designers and Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Learn and process engineering change requests using engineering sketches and annotated drawings.
• Specify and document dimensions, materials, and procedures.
• Document parts by modeling simple 3D models, adding coordinate systems, and create detail drawings for manufacturing.
• Create SAP Bill of Material reports
• Participate in quality initiatives and training as required.
