Job summary

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in Clarksburg, MD is seeking Mechanical Assemblers for 1st and 2nd shifts. You will follow assembly instructions, read schematics, and assemble precision components for defense applications, reporting to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years of related experience, fluent English, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. Solder skills are a plus; competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

We currently have openings forMechanical Assemblers on 1st and 2nd Shift in our Clarksburg, MD Campus. Mechanical Assemblers will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. First shift hours are from 5:00 am to 2:30 pm. Second shift hours are 2:30 pm to 12:00 am. Second shift candidates MUST be able to train on first shift for up to 2 weeks before moving to second shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow printed work instructions.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams and building assembly drawing along with MWI.
• Handle small precision tools, hardware, etc.
• Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
• Keep team lead informed of assembly issues.
• Maintain a neat appearance in their work area and follow FOD compliance.
• Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.

• Computer Skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook, WorkForce and SAP S4/Hana.
• Applicant must have familiarity with electronic assemblies, and surface mount assemblies.
• Ability to interpret IPC-A-620 standards, where applicable.
• Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs. with or without assistance.

The hourly pay range for this role is$22.59 - $28.87 USDalong with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of3%.2nd shift employees are eligible for an additional $1.50 per hour shift differential. Once training on 1st shift is successfully completed, the employee will transition to 2nd shift and become eligible for an additional $1.50 per hour shift differential. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above.
