Job summary

Lourdes Industries, Inc. in Hauppauge, NY, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Assembler with 3–5 years in aerospace assembly. You will read drawings, perform wiring, hand soldering, and use various hand tools to assemble devices according to blueprints and procedures.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsible for performing a wide variety of Sr. level mechanical assembly operations, which include skilled handwork. Work is semi-routine in nature, following detailed established processes and procedures. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and wiring on assembly units.

Essential Functions:

• Reads and interprets assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets, manufacturing procedures, and visual aids.
• Assembles various mechanical devices using drawings, work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
• Perform and document completed work via a traveler. Ensures correct specification and function criteria are met per the manufacturing instructions. Presents objective evidence to Quality Control that tasks were completed to all specifications.
• Mechanical assembly and testing to blueprints and ATP’s.
• Performs testing on hydraulic and pneumatic test stands.
• Meets productivity standards; completes work in a timely manner; meets commitments
• .Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
• Ability to use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, nut-drivers, power drivers, soldering iron or crimping device, etc
• Performs visual and dimensional inspections for in-process assemblies and finished products
• Dexterity to handle small parts.
• Familiar with IPC-620 standards is a plus
• Follows industry standards in best practices for FOD, ESD, and material handling controls.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
• Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to function under minimal supervision.
• This position may require sitting for long periods of time.

Education Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience Required:

• Minimum 3-5 years as a Sr. mechanical assembly experience.
• Experience in the Aerospace industry.
