Job summary

Lehigh Heavy Forge Corporation is seeking an onsite assembler/brazing specialist in Burnsville, MN for a 2nd shift. The role emphasizes brazing, reading procedures, tool usage, and following quality systems to meet customer deadlines.

Responsibilities include setting up parts, operating hand/machine tools, reading schematics, and participating in safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Overtime and weekend work may be required; CRC and manufacturing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person status as defined in policy
  • Minimum three years of brazing experience on moderately complex braze joints
  • CRC certification preferred and manufacturing experience desirable
  • Ability to interpret schematics and drawings and use basic computer skills

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:
  • Able to set up, assemble parts, and load parts.
  • Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools with basic troubleshooting around machine setup and function.
  • Able to accurately read and follow procedures, routing, and other work instructions.
  • Responsible for quality product standards with no defects. Able to identify part defects and elevate as needed.
  • Responsible for building parts that meet customer deadlines and expectations while maintaining established safety and quality standards.
  • Responsible for complying with applicable elements of quality systems and having a working knowledge of how they apply to the product being produced.
  • Participate in cost reduction plans and continuous improvement plans/events, as required.
  • Participate in audits with positive communication practices.
  • Acquire applicable skills/knowledge/certifications as required.
  • Responsible for tracking and staying compliant with site training and recertification requirements.
  • Maintain materials, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Responsible for participating in Daily, Weekly, and Monthly cleaning activities.
  • Rotate to different workstations throughout the shift as business needs change.
  • Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
  • Check work methods and results for conformance to standards and re-instruct as required.
  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
  • Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
  • Ability to comply with EH&S policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Attend EH&S trainings as required.
  • Report unsafe practices and/or conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
  • Recommend improvements to EH&S practices to create a safer workplace.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Minimum three years of brazing experience doing moderately complex braze joint.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
  • Career Readiness Certification (CRC) strongly preferred.
  • Interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens, and learning new software programs.

The hourly range for this role is $21.38 - $40.10. The hourly range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
