Job summary

Woodward Inc. in Niles, IL is seeking a Mechanical Assembler I for 1st shift to join our manufacturing team.

This role focuses on assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting and fitting subassemblies and parts using appropriate tools in an industrial setting, with close supervision and emphasis on quality and safety. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow work instructions, use basic hand tools, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and/or perform preset calibration and final testing.
  • Assemble, install, align, adjust and fit subassemblies and parts per work instructions.
  • Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per proper work instructions.
  • Follow work instructions to become certified for work being performed.
  • Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirements.
  • Complete all required paperwork including QA records.
